  • Deep Tissue Massage: Deep tissue massage uses slower, more forceful strong to target deeper layers of muscle. This is helpful for those with muscle damage received from injuries.
  • Neuromuscular Therapy Massage: Neuromuscular therapy massage is a form of soft tissue manipulation that pinpoints the underlying causes of chronic pain involving the muscular and nervous system. This a medically oriented form of massage which addresses trigger points, circulation, nerve compression and postural issues.
  • Sports Massage: Sports massages are like Swedish massage, but it is targeted towards people involved in sports activities to help prevent, increase flexibility or treat injuries. This type of massage is also helpful after a sports injury.
  • Shiatsu Massage: Shiatsu massage originated in Japan. For this type of massage, the therapist uses rhythmic pressure on certain acupressure points on the body that are important for the flow of the body’s vital energy or chi.
  • Thai Massage: Thai massage includes compression of muscles, mobilization of joints and acupressure. The massage therapist uses his or her body to move the client into a variety of positions.
  • Hot Stone Massage: Hot stone massage involves placing warmed stones on certain areas of the body, such as acupressure points. The stones could be used as massage tools or be temporarily in place. This type of therapy is also used along with other massage techniques.
